At moments like this, words fail to convey how you feel... I won't tell you I understand exactly how you feel, but what you're feeling right now is universal. I say this not to make your emotions appear casual but to remind you that you are not alone, even if you feel that way. Although I may not have much, I'm sending you lots of love and virtual hugs.
Your feelings are valid, and it's okay to be sad. It's okay to cry. I read a quote that says:
Crying does not indicate that you are weak. Since birth, it has always been a sign that you are alive. - Charlotte Brontë
Let Go of Blame
What happened was unfortunate, but don't blame yourself... no good will come from it. Imagine yourself as the sky, with your emotions being the clouds. They will go away and reveal a calm blue sky. I don't know how long it will take, but I know it will definitely go away. Take a deep breath and be... just be...
To parents who feel they’ve failed.
As a parent, you are not 100% responsible for how your child turns out. Maybe you're not proud of who they are today—perhaps they've struggled with jail time, addiction, or behavioral issues. You did your best; you gave them all they needed, and you hoped they'd be better people, but it just didn't work out. It was not your fault.
Heartbreak
Sorry they left. It may not be because you weren't good enough. Have you ever thought it may be because you were too good for them? The universe wants someone better for you. They didn't take any virtue from you... you are still whole. They added layers of hurt, disappointment, and feelings of betrayal. I believe you are strong, and you'll daily heal and take off those layers to reveal your beautiful self once again.
Grieving
Though you won't see them again, cherish the memories you shared. It's a very difficult season, but you'll get through it too... grief is one of those times I understand the meaning of supernatural comfort from God. Though healing seems distant, I firmly believe you'll find peace and you’ll see them again someday.

Before we say goodbye
If there's something you'd like to discuss, please send me a direct message, and we'll explore the feeling together.
It's dusk, it's drizzling, and I'm about to end this letter. My words may be fragile or too cold for comfort because when I feel sad and sometimes read articles relating to my emotions, I sigh and mutter: "you don't understand how I feel." Now that I'm the writer, I feel a bit sad that you're right. I may not understand exactly how you feel... life is complex, but sometimes relief doesn't always come from solving the problem but in exploring our feelings and sharing a moment together. Thank you for sharing this moment with me.
