Pandora was given a box by the gods and told not to open it. Out of curiosity, she did and released evil into the world. The only thing left in the box was Hope. To this day, it remains undecided whether Hope is a blessing that things will get better or a beautiful curse that keeps our hearts hoping for what might never be realized.
This is from Greek mythology; the story is commonly known as "Pandora's box." If everyone were asked to vote, I'd choose the first idea: Hope is a blessing. Yet I won't judge those who disagree.
As kids, we mapped out our lives and said: "When I'm 17, I'll do this; by 25, I should have accomplished that – I'll be a teacher, artist, dentist." We learn that life has variables beyond our control as we grow up. Things don't always go as planned…Sorry if you're experiencing setbacks recently.
I don't know why; perhaps it wasn't meant to be, or maybe it's yet to come. Life is a mystery that gradually unfolds.
My message today is to always have a Plan B. After strategizing and hoping things go smoothly, they may not. Without Plan B, one is left stranded. Keep your primary plan in focus, as excessive consideration of Plan B may cause doubt and we may end up with second best. According to the Law of Attraction, our thoughts attract corresponding experiences.
Plan A should be the vehicle driving you toward your goals, expectations, wishes and the bright side of hope should be it's fuel– whatever those are – from everyday choices, like where to relax when your favorite spot is closed, to significant decisions, such as business investments yielding little profit.
When hope shows it's dark side, plan B should be a shock absorber or you could think of it as a spare tyre, ensuring you're prepared to move forward with your initial plans and so you'll always keep hope alive too. When you're going somewhere important, it feels good to know you brought along an umbrella when it begins raining.
But what do you think: is Hope a blessing or a curse? If it reveals its dark side and things go the complete opposite, it feels like torture. Honestly, some days, things just won't turn out as planned; we must accept that those things might not change.
However, everything will be okay; the sun will keep shining. Never stop hoping; recall those action movies where hope seems lost, then; boom! Something incredible happens?
The hope slipping away may just be a miracle yet to happen. But I'll still say it again: after all, I appreciate authenticity. Have a shock absorber; have a Plan B.
Shalom dear one,
